OH MY GOD, How cold is it!

It is absolutely the coldest I can remember it being in Boulder. Move anything faster than a fast walk and your face freezes solid. It makes me want to hibernate in my apartment and never leave.

The last week has been full of gym workouts and riding the trainer indoors. I hate it. I play my iPod and try to dream of racing but after about 1.5 hours I begin to lose it. I do not even begin to comprehend how people do this for 3-4 hours at a time. Instead, I have been trying to mix things up....1.5 hours on the trainer, 30 min on the stair climber, lifting weights, rowing, etc. It might not make me the strongest cyclist but at least I will keep my sanity.

If you want to read about some girls that are true professionals at sticking to their training schedule check out the new Rocky Mounts Women's team blog at www.rmwomen.blogspot.com

It is meant to get warmer this weekend. YEAH!

Wind, wind, wind

Skipped the gym and headed outside on the bike instead. Two hours of wind; the crazy, sideways, blow you over, wind that makes you want to cry. Great thing about Boulder is that you always see other cyclists out. Reminds me that if they are tough enough to be out then I am too. Taking it easy never makes you win.

Life Rearrangement

The year of 2008 has started and everything is changing. I recently completed my student teaching and have one semester of my masters to go. I didn't work (well, for pay, that is) while I was student teaching so now I am looking for a job again. I am also attemting to get ready for racing season. Truthfully, I am scared to death. I know that I am not training near as much as some of my teammates. I have no idea where they find the time. School starts on Monday. I am taking a higher level conversational spanish course that I am really looking forward to. One of my non-workout goals for this semester is to get all my photos organized. I'll be posting my albums here on the blog.

While you are here (if anyone is :-) ) please take a look at the link for Kiva.org. There are a great non-profit that arranges micro loans for individuals in third world countries. These people need really small loans that change their lives forever. If you can even contribute $25 you can help provide the money they need to take the first step out of poverty. Anyway, a small step to make a huge difference.

Off to the gym.....2 hours on the trainer....ugh!
